This first addition to the necklace of public parks that will connect the city to the riverfront from Battery Park City up the west side of Manhattan houses the ventilation shafts for the PATH trains. The design is based on classical garden architecture and incorporates the park into the fabric of the neighborhood through the use of color and materials indigenous to the area.
